  1. EAP additional consultation NOW CLOSED

We would like to thank respondents for sharing their views on the consultation. The responses will be used, together with the 2023 consultation responses, to inform the submission draft of the EAP review, and we will produce a consultation response document setting out how we intend to respond to the comments received. There will be further consultation on a revised version of the updated Euston Area Plan prior to submission for independent examination (currently expected in early 2025).

We will also use the comments received, along with the adopted EAP, and the proposed update published in January 2023 to inform discussions with landowners about the future of Euston station development. If you require further information please contact eustonareaplan@camden.gov.uk

  3. EUSTON AREA PLAN UPDATE (EAP) DECEMBER 2023

Comments Off on EUSTON AREA PLAN UPDATE (EAP) DECEMBER 2023

After Camden Council’s initial consultation on proposed updates to the EAP (a planning document that will help to shape the future of the Euston area) in Spring 2023, work on the Plan was paused while HS2 worked on different station options as part of a cost cutting exercise at Euston.

As the Government has now announced HS2 will come to Euston but that they expect the station and tracks to be funded privately (October 2023), the Council is restarting work on the update to the EAP. The biggest changes are to be focussed on the station and Cutting chapters.

Our current timetable includes additional consultation as a revised draft in Summer 2024 that will be available on this website.

If you require further information please contact eustonareaplan@camden.gov.uk

  4. Have your say on our proposed updates to the Euston Area Plan

Comments Off on Have your say on our proposed updates to the Euston Area Plan

We are consulting on proposed updates to the Euston Area Plan (EAP) – a planning document that will help to shape the future of the Euston area (including proposals for the following sub-areas: Euston Station and Tracks, Euston Road, Camden Cutting, Drummond Street and Hampstead Road, Regent’s Park Estate, Ampthill and Mornington Crescent Station, and West Somers Town).

We are reviewing key parts of the EAP because much has changed since it was first adopted in 2015. The biggest changes are focussed on the station and tracks. As more detailed designs have been developed, this has led to increasing certainty about what could be built, funded and enabled and the timescales involved. We have used this information, what you have told us, and the need to put greater focus on climate change and delivering social value, to inform the proposed updates to the EAP.

You can review the proposed changes and share your views online via the Council’s Commonplace website or in person during one of the drop-in events listed below.

Responses should be submitted by Sunday 19th February.

We’ve launched a new Euston engagement hub – a place for you to have your say on the future of Euston. The hub provides an opportunity to share your views, not only with the Council but also with your neighbours, friends and community. The organisations responsible for the delivery of projects at Euston, including Lendlease, HS2, Network Rai and TfL will also be able to see what you have to say.

Comments Off on Camden responds to the Government’s decision on HS2

The Prime Minister has announced that the building of High Speed 2 (HS2) will go-ahead and committed to “new delivery arrangements for Euston station” (11 February 2020).

The Government also published the full report arising from the Oakervee Review, the independent review called by Government to examine the project.

Councillor Danny Beales, Cabinet Member for Investing in Communities and an Inclusive Economy, gave Camden Council’s reaction to these announcements. You can view a copy of this statement here.
